This course is free for eligible Hackney residents. Our Introduction to Cloud Services course introduces learners to the fundamentals of Cloud services, covering essential topics such as Cloud basics, managed services, deployment models, hosting scenarios, Cloud platform comparison, and future trends. Industry standard services such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud Platform will be covered. View course dates and booking form.
Outcomes
Completing our Introduction to Cloud Services course will enable you to do the following and more:
- Understand the concept of "The Cloud" and its significance in modern technology.
- Identify the various managed services and deployment models available in cloud computing / cloud services.
- Understand hosting scenarios, cloud platforms comparison, and best practices for successful Cloud computing implementation.
- Gain knowledge of the future trends in Cloud computing, including serverless computing, AI integration, and the Internet of Things (IoT) landscape.

Requirements
This course is provided free of charge to Hackney residents who have UK/EU citizenship and were aged 19 or older on 31/08/2024. To enrol you will need to have a Hackney address. The course runs on 4 evenings - two days a week for 2 weeks.
A deposit of £20 is required to book. The full deposit is refundable on completion of the course. To complete the course you must attend all four evening sessions and complete the enrolment form and any other requested GLA funding related forms.
Booking
Places are booked on a first come first served basis. We are operating a stand by / waiting list in case courses are fully booked. No prior knowledge of Cloud Services is required: only basic PC or Mac skills. If English is not your first language you should have a good level of English in order to participate.
